For this reason, throughout this article we are going to show you the best wineries in Mallorca and how to get there by car.

BLANCA TERRA. Bodega i Vinya

We open our list with Blanca Terra, one of the best wineries on the island of Mallorca. This family business was founded by Don Bernat Febrer, who managed to create a top-quality Mallorcan wine thanks to the process of selecting the land on which to plant the vineyards and the best grape varieties for the production of this exquisite drink.

For this reason, several varieties of grapes coexist in their vineyards: those that are native and others that come from other areas of the country. Among its productions, we highlight its red wine Febrer, which is characterised by being elegant and structured, as well as full-bodied and full of character. Specifically, this wine is made from Merlot and Monastrell grapes, varieties which, together with its ageing, give it certain touches of wood and notes of ripe fruit.

This winery also always has its doors open so that you can visit its museum and cellar to learn about the production of these exquisite local products. In addition to the visit, you can also enjoy a good wine tasting session together with top-quality food typical of Mallorcan lands.

Access to this winery is very easy, as all you have to do is take the Ma-15 road from Palma de Mallorca in the direction of Manacor. At the first roundabout, take the second exit and continue along the same road until you reach the exit towards Montuïri / Porreres / St. Joan. It is a few metres further on, on your left, at Diseminado Varis, 172, in the municipality of Montuïri.

Bodega José L. Ferrer

This winery was inaugurated in 1931 in the Balearic municipality of Binissalem and has been in continuous operation for more than 85 years. It is at the forefront in terms of winemaking techniques, although it still maintains the most traditional techniques for the production of certain types of wine. This winery consists of four parts built in four different stages.

The first of these, the oldest, was built by the founder himself, José L. Ferrer, and has the typical cement tanks with a capacity of 15,000 litres each. In 1960, a small extension was made to include 6 more tanks and more space to store the barrels for the ageing of this drink.

In 1995, the third generation undertook a major expansion with the installation of 14 tanks of 35,000 litres each for fermentation. Two cellars were also built in two basements at different levels with capacity for 2,000 more barrels. In 2016, the fourth generation created a small Veritas winery, with stainless steel tanks, 4 wooden vats reserved for making the best quality wines and a new cellar.

This is one of the best wineries in Mallorca to visit, offering guided tours and tastings, as well as food and wine experiences, other special tours and events, and a shop where you can buy the best wines. To get there in a rental car, it is quite easy, since, from Palma de Mallorca, you only have to leave the city by the Ma-13 road, taking exit 17 towards the Ma-2050 until the second roundabout, where you must take the exit on the MA-13A road until you reach the winery.

Bodega Macià Batle

Bodega Macià Batle is one of the oldest wineries on the island, located in the municipality of Santa María del Camí. It was opened in 1856 by Macià Battle using grapes from his own vineyards, located in Biniali, which means that it now has almost 170 years of history. However, it was not until 1997, when the business moved to Santa María del Camí, that his descendants built the new cellars here.

This company was acquired in 2003 by the Mallorcan businessman Sebastiá Rubí, who expanded the cellars in 2005. In this way, the Bodega Macià Battle has positioned itself as one of the most important companies in terms of the production of quality wines on the island of Mallorca. This is due to the fact that from the very beginning it has been clear to them that they want to pursue excellence in the wines they produce, which is why they offer modern wines with body, aroma and exceptional flavour.

Nowadays, this winery offers the possibility of visiting its facilities to learn about the winemaking processes. Throughout the visit, you will be able to observe the route taken by the grapes from the harvest to the fermentation and bottling areas. You will also be able to see the tanks and the ageing area, as well as the areas where the bottles rest. You can also enjoy a wine tasting session.

This winery is closer to Palma de Mallorca than the previous one, just over 20 minutes by car from the city centre. To get there, all you have to do is take the Ma-13 road for about 7 kilometres and take exit 8 towards Santa María. Then just follow the Ma-13A road until you reach the bodega.

Bodega Ángel

The Angel winery is located on the Santa Maria – Sencelles road, within the municipality of Santa Maria del Camí, but several kilometres away from the municipality itself. Founded in 2006, it is one of the main wineries on the island today.

It has 17 hectares of vineyards and a production capacity of up to 750,000 litres. Its wines are made from native varieties such as cabernet sauvignon, merlot, chardonnay, petit verdot and manto negro. Among its production, this winery has a wide variety of sweet, white, rosé, red, crianza and reserve wines.

Likewise, this winery near Palma de Mallorca offers the possibility of guided tours where you can learn about the winemaking process, the history of the company itself and the different types of wine produced. Likewise, they also offer various tasting and sampling services to discover the different aromas and flavours of the wines produced here. However, it is necessary to book in advance for this visit.

To get to this winery you have to leave Palma de Mallorca on the Ma-13 road and take exit 12 towards Santa María. Then, take the third exit at the roundabout and continue along the Ma-3030 road until you reach the winery itself, as it is only 1 kilometre from the roundabout.

Vins Miquel Gelabert

This is a high quality wine cellar located in the Mallorcan town of Manacor. It was founded in 1985 by Miquel Gelabert and María Miquel, thanks to their passion for wine. What started as a hobby soon became a serious business thanks to the excellent quality of the wines they produced.

Therefore, we can say that this is a family business dedicated to the production of excellent quality wines on a small scale. In fact, they only have 9 hectares of land and control the entire wine production process.

They also offer the possibility of visiting the winery and some of the land located in a valley just 10 minutes from the town of Manacor. You can also enjoy a wine tasting and a free tasting of local products.
